The people of Karlovac were quickly renewed thanks to Metropolitan Stefan StratimiroviÃâ¡, who gave a new impetus to the economic rise and a new revival. At that time, the richest Serbs lived in Karlovac, who collected huge capital in this place and who always channeled and used it for the benefit of their kind in the right way. One of such projects was the establishment of the Karlovac High School. The gymnasium was founded with contributions from Dimitrij AnastasijeviÃâ¡ Sabov 20,000 forints and other citizens p. 19,000. By the charter of October 11, 1791, Emperor Leopold II approved the establishment of a grammar school. The patronage and guardianship of the high school funds, headed by Metropolitan StratimiroviÃâ¡, took care of the work and life of the high school.
