Located in the North of Kaluga region, on the river Medina (Oka basin), on the highway Moscow—Roslavl (А130, Warsaw highway), 15 km from the railway station Matlievska line Kaluga—Vyazma, 62 km from Kaluga. Near this town lies the village of Romanovo, where was erected one of the most beautiful in the region, of Orthodox churches in honor of Saint George.
