A bunch of three blighia sapida, known as ackie on a branch of its tree. Two of the three-lobe pink and yellow fruit pods open exposing the glossy black seeds and pale yellow aril attached in the center of the pods by thin pink membranes. A seed is tiny and covered with the scrambled textured aril. The third pod is completely closed and must open before harvesting.
