It was built between 1905 and 1908 by the modernist architectàLluis Domènech i Montaner as a home for theàOrfeo Catala, a local choral society. The building is made around a central metal structure covered in glass, the hall can rely entirely on natural light to illuminate the concert hall during daytime hours. The stained-glass inverted dome ceiling, designed by Antoni Rigalt i Blanch, with dominating shades of blue and gold, represents a central large sun. It is a profusely decorated, mystical, hall, packed with figures and natural motifs, including colorful flowers, palms or fruits.
