A former Israel Defense Forces head, Minister of Defense, Parliamentarian, Palmach veteran, and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (together with Shimon Peres, and Yasser Arafat), Rabin was assassinated during a heated and bitter re-election campaign, at the close of a peace rally in Tel Aviv, dying November 4, 1995 at the age of 73. The couple were married 47 years. She died from lung cancer at 72 in 2000, 9 days following the 5th anniversary of his death. They aried buried together at Mt. Herzl Cemetery in Jerusalem.
