| The magnificent Hassan Tower in Rabat in Morocco. The tower is the incomplete red sandstone minaret of a mosque began in 1195 intended to be the largest minaret in the world. In 1199, Sultan Yacub al-Mansour died and construction on the mosque stopped forever. In the foreground stands 200 columns also from the unfinish ancient mosque. |
