A re-enactor dressed in the United States Sharpshooter Regiment uniform at the time of the American Civil War. The Sharpshooter Regiments were founded by Hiram C. Berdan, an officer in the Union Army. Volunteer recruits, to be selected, has to pass a rifle shooting accuracy test as well as having other attributes to meet the demanding roll.
