This is a picture of the Temple Redondo or Round Temple, it was used a an Observatory by the Mayans. It was not of religious significance but used to enhance their knowledge of astronomy. Like Chichen a Itza it was constructed to follow the movement of Venus in the skies. The community prospered into the 1450`s. The MayapÃÂ¡n Archeological Zone is located in MayapÃÂ¡n, Mexico.
