Stephen Sondheim arrives on the red carpet for the New York premiere of the HBO bio-documentary, `Six By Sondheim,` on the iconic composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim. He is joined by Tony-winning actor Nathan Lane. The event was held at Manhattanââ¬â¢s Museum of Modern Art on November 18, 2013. In his lengthy and productive career, Sondheim won 8 Tonys for Best Musical Score and another Tony for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, in 2008. He also won a Pulitzer and reveived a Presidential Medal of Freedom, bestowed by Barack Obama in 2015. Lane earned one of his 3 Tonys for his work in Sondheim's hilarious, acclaimed hit, 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.' Sondheim died at his home, in Roxbury, Connecticut on November 26, 2021, at the age of 91. |
