The Praca do Comercio, commonly known as Terreiro do Paco, is located in the portuguese capital of Lisbon. Middle of the square there is a statue of King Jose I, which is symbolically crushing snakes on his path. At the background the Rua Augusta Arch, a stone, triumphal arch-like, historical building with statues of the Glory, Ingenuity and Valour, built to commemorate the city's reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake. |
