Miana or Coleus atropurpureus (Plectranthus scutellarioides) is a shrub with a height of up to 1.5 m. The leaves are efficacious as a remedy for hemorrhoids, boils, puerperal fever, ear inflammation and irregular menstruation. This plant has other names, namely Sigresing (Batak), Adong-adong (Palembang), Jawek Kotok (Sunda), Iler (Central Java), Ati-ati (Bugis), Bulunangko (Toraja) and Serewung (Minahasa).
