| These house-shaped stone structures in North Sulawesi are the relics of ancient stone sarcophagi. Traditionally used by the local Minahasa people, bodies were tucked into a fetal position inside these boxes and carvings on the `waruga` could sometimes reveal who was laid to rest in it, as shown by this `waruga` of a midwife. |
