Pictured is a sculpture of a scribe seated cross-legged inside the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, Egypt. He is holding an open papyrus roll on his knees. The limestone sculpture is from the V Dynasty, Saqqara. The museum was built in 1901 to a design by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. In 2022, the museum is due to be superseded by the newer and larger Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
