Nimble and tough star running back and receiver, Raheem Blackshear, has many moves which force many defenders to `grasp at air` as he scampers downfield. Rutgers fell behind visiting UMass 21-7 in a season-opening August, 30, 2019 football game at the SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. Blackshear enjoyed a productive evening, rushing 9 times for 126 yards, including a long one of 28 yards. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights rallied and went on to score 41 unanswered points and celebrated the 150th anniversary of of intercollegiate football by trouncing the Massachusetts Minutemen 48-21 in an NCAA Division 1 FBS matchup. The game had a historic context because 150 years earlier, Rutgers beat Princeton 6-4 in the first inter-collegiate football game which was played in neighboring New Brunswick, NJ in 1869. To the present day, Rutgers is known as the `Birthplace of College Football.`
