| The ruins of the Church of Santa Maria di Cartignano in Bussi sul Tirino offer one of the most suggesting views of the Tirino Valley. At the beginning of XI century it arose as a country church belonged to the Abbazia di Montecassino, but, in 1065, it became a monastery with a resident monk community. After about three centuries, the Church, abandoned by the inhabitants of Cassino, became a rural building of San Liberatore a Majella. |
