| The biggest hit since the avocado toast is the Danish smørrebrød. Long a Danish favorite, the smørrebrød is basically an open sandwich, a slice of Danish sourdough rye bread piled with a variety of toppings. Pickled herring is the classic topping, but it could also be slices of cheeses and fruits, and roast beef. In San Francisco, where avocado rules, you`ll see avocado smørrebrød. My favorite though is this chicken smørrebrød. |
