Oscar nominated Norwegian actress and human rights activist Liv Ullmann was honored with a terrace bearing her name at the Jerusalem Cinematheque on September 8, 1987. But she, in turn, switched the event into a tribute to long-time then Soviet refusenik, Ida Nudel t-shirt likeness. She introduced her film project, `Moscow, Farewell,` loosely based on the struggle of Nudel to gain her freedom. She is joined by mayor Teddy Kollek, and her then husband, American Donald Saunders. Nudel was released the following month, to live in Israel. Nudel died in Israel on September 13, 2021 at the age of 90.
