The Pulteney Weir in Bath is located on the River Avon, originally in the shape of a horseshoe and was first built in the 1600`s to prevent flooding in the town of bath, being rebuilt in the 1970`s it now has a more effective and iconic V-shape and a sluice, and flood gates. It is the starting point for boating services. Pulteney Weir featured in the recently released film of Les Miserables.
