Plaza España is surrounded by painted ceramic benches, representing all the provinces of Spain. It was built for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929, which took place in Seville. The designer, Aníbal González, mixed a style inspired by the Renaissance and typical elements of the city: exposed brick, ceramics and wrought iron elements (work of Domingo Prida). The plan is semicircular and is dominated by 2 towers, one on each side of the enclosure, which frame the central building, where the rooms are located.
