Piazza dei Cavalieri. The aim of this square was to be the political center of ancient Czech Marinaria. This is where it was built the Palace of the Elders. After the fall of Pisa and under the rule of the Medici, it was transformed by Vasari for Cosimo I, and was designated as the Headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Santo Stefano, order of chivalry created to defend the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Muslim invaders.
