| This is an ancient stone temple located in Polonnaruwa. Located in the northern direction of Alahana Piriven Complex, it is known as Uttararamaya which means the monastery established in the north in the past. However, as many excellent stone Buddha statues were seen here, in the 20th century it may have been popular among the public under the name Uttararama Pilimageya Gal Viharaya, according to the opinion of Mahaduru Ariya Lagamuwa. According to Chulavamsa, it is clearly stated that this was built by the Great Parakumbas. |
