Bucharest, Romania. 11th July, 2025: The honourable skull of Saint John Chrysostom is brought by Abbot Ephraim of Vatopedi Monastery to Romanian Patriarchal Cathedral on the occasion of the summer feast of Saint Demetrius the New. The Romanian Orthodox Church celebrates on July 13 the historical transfer of the relics of Saint Demetrius the New to Bucharest in 1774, through liturgical events held at the Patriarchal Cathedral. The holy head will stay in Bucharest until Wednesday, July 16, so the faithful can venerate it alongside the relics of Demetrius, the citys patron saint.
