| The Netherlands, Province Limburg, City Valkenburg at the Geul: Frontage of the ancient train station, located on the track, Maastricht-Heerlen railway line, the Heuvelland line, which is now being provided by the Veolia transport company. This station is the oldest existing Dutch train station. The historic building was built with marl stones, marl blocks, and was designed by architect Jacobus Enschede. Opened in 1853. This former railway station of the NS, Dutch Railways is also used today by the ZLSM [South Limburg Steam Train Company] on the Valkenburg-Simpelveld line. It is a famous landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction. |
