| The Okere Falls, just to the northeast of Lake Rotorua, meander through native bush. The area has a popular walking trail and is used by kayakers. To the right of the photograph are the remains of one of New Zealand`s first hydro electric power stations, built between 1899 and 1901 to power the tourist town of Rotorua. |
