A group of tourists on a kayaking excursion get to see historic Creek Street from a unique water level perspective. Creek Street, famous as the one time "red light" district of Ketchikan, is now full of craft and gift shops, as well as several restaurants, where dance halls, bars, and houses of ill repute once stood. Pictured right here is "Halibut Hole", a popular place to eat along the boardwalk, along with a number of gift shops. A popular summer cruise ship port of call, Ketchikan is located at the start of the Inside Passage in southeast Alaska. Known as the "Salmon Capital of the World", tourism, timber harvesting, and fishing, both recreational and commercial, are the cornerstones of the local economy.
