The Pass is a new wall of Marcel Ayme published in 1943. It depicts "an excellent man named Dutilleul who had the singular gift to pass through walls without being inconvenienced. He wore spectacles, a small black beard, and he was an employee of the third class at the Department of Registration. " The action takes place Norvins Street in Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement, where Marcel Ayme lived. Place Marcel Ayme, located at the end of this street, houses a bronze statue by Jean Marais, representing the character trapped in a wall.
