Spassky Cathedral, which is the katholikon of Andronikov Monastery, is active Orthodox temple, a monument of the early Moscow architecture of the XV century. It`s one of numerous Russian churches dedicated to the Vernicle Image of the Saviour. Also Spassky Cathedral is the oldest partially preserved Orthodox temple of Moscow outside the Kremlin in Moscow. A famous ancient Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev participated in the implementation of internal painting of the Cathedral. |
