Ancient tradition refers to only five likenesses of the Buddha, made during his lifetime; two were in India, two in paradise, and the fifth is the Mahamuni Buddha image in Myanmar. This ritual commences every morning at 4 am or 4:30 am when monks wash the face and brush the teeth of the Buddha image.
