| Monastery of Saint Petka "Iverica" is a medieval Serbian monastery from the first half of the 14th century. It was created during the time of Stefan Uroš V. The monastery is located in the atar of Ostrovica in the municipality of Niška Banja, about 20 km east of Niš towards Pirot, in the central part of the Si?eva?ka Gorge, on the right bank of the Nišava River.[1][2][3] It represents an immovable cultural asset as a cultural monument.The monastery of Sveta Petka "Iverica" is known as the first and only military monastery in the Serbian Orthodox Church and was named - Royal Serbian Military Monastery "Sveta Petka Iverica" |
