El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulcan, is a step pyramid located in Chichen Itza, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. The pyramid features a series of terraces with 91 steps on each of the four sides, culminating in a temple at the top. Constructed of limestone, it embodies Mayan architectural and astronomical significance, with phenomena such as the shadow of a serpent appearing during the equinoxes. The structure stands amid a grassy area, under a partly cloudy sky, highlighting its historical grandeur.
