Menorah (Dav-Heb. ????????? - menorah?, lit. "lamp") - a golden seven-barrel lamp, or seven-candlestick, which, according to the Bible, was located in the Tabernacle of the Congregation during the wandering of the Jews in the desert, and then in the Jerusalem Temple until the time of its destruction of the Second Temple. It is one of the oldest symbols of Judaism and Jewish religious attributes. The symbol of the menorah spread widely throughout the Roman Empire from the 1st century and probably symbolized the expectation of the Messiah. Hanukkah lamps in the form of a menorah with nine branches, which were common in Jewish life, are distinctive. Every Jewish family had Hanukkah, and in this connection in the 18th and 19th centuries they became the subject of mass production.
