| The Memorial is placed in the field, on extensive upland. Defending Moscow on this line, the 28 Panfilov heroes fought to the death and defeated in a fierce battle against fascist invaders in the harsh days of November 1941. Glorious sons of the Soviet nation stopped the offensive of 50 Nazi tanks. The memorial complex consists of six monumental sculptures of 10 meters high, symbolizing the warriors of the six nationalities who fought in the Panfilov division. Faces of the defenders are full with resolute determination. |
