A display of traditional practise of crafting different materials of wooden calligraphy pens. A Turkish carving knife or kalemtras, is used to carve these traditional Arabic calligraphy pens also known as Qalams in classical Islamic arts. Materials on the tables are generally reeds, bamboos, handam, kalemtras, makta: a Turkish pen-trimming board, as well as some wood shavings from pen carvings.
