Budapest, Hungary - September 16, 2015: Liberty Statue (Freedom Statue) at the Citadel on Gellert hill in Budapest, Hungary. It commemorates those who sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom, and prosperity of Hungary. The monument was designed by Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl, a successful Hungarian sculptor and artist, and was unveiled in 1947. The statue shows a bronze female figure standing atop a tall pedestal and holding aloft a large palm leaf.
