| Actress Leslie Uggams arrives on the red carpet for the 59th Annual Tony Awards celebrating excellence in Broadway theater. The event was held at Radio City Music Hall in mid-town Manhattan on June 5, 2005. Uggams won a Tony in 1968 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Rolein a Musical for 'Hallelujulah, Baby!' She has won a Daytime Emmy and was well known for her portrayal of 'Kizzy' in in the groundbreaking multi-part epic tv saga, 'Roots.' |
