| Actress Leslie Uggams arrives on the red carpet for the 59th Annual Tony Awards celebrating excellence in Broadway theater. The event was held at Radio City Music Hall in mid-town Manhattan on June 5, 2005. In 1968 Uggams won a Tony for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her work in 'Hallelujjah, Baby!' In 1977 she gained recognition playing the role of 'Kizzy' in the epic multi-episode drama, 'Roots.' Uggams also is the winner of a Daytime Emmy Award. |
