Bern, Switzerland - September 16, 2015: Photo taken in the Marktgasse in Bern, one of the principal streets in the Old City of Bern, the medieval city centre of Bern, Switzerland. It was the center of urban life in Bern, now it is a popular shopping street. It connects the Spitalgasse with the Kramgasse. It features the famous Schutzenbrunnen and Anna-Seiler-brunnen and lies between the Kafigturm and Zeitglockenturm. We can see the Kafigturm in the back, towering over the Marktgasse. It is a famous medieval tower in Bern and part of the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site of the Old City of Bern. It was originally built as a gate house in 1256. It also once was a prison.
