Jews praying at the Western Wall or Wailing Wall or Kotel in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel. It is an ancient wall in the Old City built with enormous meleke limestone blocks, originally erected as part of the expansion of the Second Jewish Temple by Herod the Great. Due to the status quo policy on the Temple Mount, at present it is the holiest place where Jews are permitted to pray. This is the men section of the Wall. RAW file available. |
