English theater, film, and television actress and writer Jean Marsh, at 45, greets fans outside the theater on Broadway following her performance in `Whose Life is it Anyway?` The photo was taken in New York City in 1979. Marsh is an Emmy winner for acting in the role of the maid, Rose Buck in the British period piece series, `Upstairs, Downstairs.` As a writer she co-created the series and took home the Emmy as an actress portraying the role of the parlor maid, Rose, in the much-loved series broadcast in the USA on PBS from 1974-1977. Marsh died at her London home on April 13, 2025, from complications from dementia, ata the age of 90.
