Janusz Korczak was a Polish educator, children author, paediatrician and director of an orphanage in Warsaw. On 5 August 1942 he was sent with his orphans from the Warsaw Ghetto to Treblinka death camp and murdered by the Germans in the gas chamber. The monument is situated at the Okopowa Jewish Cemetery, Warsaw, Poland.
