The mimoso jacaranda is an ornamental tree of the Bignoniaceae family, native to Argentina, Bolivia and southern Brazil that is threatened with extinction in its natural habitat. Flowers have a showy bluish-lilac color. The fruits are woody capsules (pods), very hard and containing numerous winged seeds. Winged seeds have a streamlined anatomy that allows them to fly, fall or glide further away from the parent plant. |
