| Vestiges of the Kanturk Castle. It is a fortified house in Tudor-style, built in 17th century as the dwelling of the family MacDonagh McCarthy. The castle was supposed to counter the advance of the English settlers arrived in Ireland as a result of the conquest of the island carried out by Oliver Cromwell. |
