The Intercession Church is the only city church that was not closed in the city during the Soviet era, and where worship services were not interrupted, as well as the only church built in the Moscow Baroque style. In 1789, instead of the hitherto former wooden church, a stone church was built at the expense of the secretary of the district court D. Tolsky and the merchant P. Bykov, which still exists today.
