Egyptian acacia (Vachellia nilotica), also known as gum arabic tree, babul, thorn mimosa or thorny acacia, is a flowering tree. Native to Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, it belongs to the family Fabaceae or Leguminosae, commonly known as the legume, pea, or bean family. Flowers are in small globulous heads of a bright golden-yellow color.
