| This was no ordinary beauty contest to crown the winner of the Miss Jerusalem event, held at Binyenei Haouma in the capital on June 20, 1987. The winner, Zeri Zohar, in blue, seated, enjoys the moment. The hosts of the event were Israel`s most famous international singer, Ofra Haza, in black on left, and comedian Dudu Dotan, a popular actor and comedian. Haza died from an AIDS related illness on February 23, 2000 at the age of 42. Dotan died on September 8, 2001 at the age of 52 from a heart attack while on vacation in Turkey. |
