| The Great Hall and attached to it on the left, the Solar. The Solar was the sleeping and private quarters used by the Lord`s family and was also called either the Lords and Ladies Chamber or the Great Chamber. This part of the castle was built in the late 13th century.
Stokesay Castle is one of the finest fortified medieval manor houses in England. The castle was originally built in the late 1200s by Laurence of Ludlow.
