An assorted display of different hand-carved calligraphy pens held in a glass jar. They are made of various Turkish reeds, Javanese fern reeds: handam, as well as bamboos. These traditional handcrafted wooden pens, known as qalams, are used in classical Islamic arts and Arabic calligraphy known as: khat. They are also used in Southeast Asian Jawi scripts.
