The Strâmbu-Găiseni hermitage was founded in the 16th century, founded by one of the most important rulers of Neagoe Basarab, Vornicul Drăghici Vintilescu from Floresti. The Strâmbu-Găiseni hermitage is mentioned for the first time in a document from April 3, 1526, by which Radu de la Afumaţi gave to the monasteries Glavacioc, Bolintin, Nucet and Muşeteşti the princely part of Balta Doamnei. In a document from 1605, issued in Târgovişte by Radu Şerban, there is talk about the Strâmbu Hermitage and about its founder, a former great vornic, who was buried with his wife, his sons and the whole nation in the Holy Strâmbu Monastery.
