A portrait of Sir Edward Elgar commissioned for Hereford Cathedral and unveiled in 2005. This sculpture was commissioned by the Elgar in Hereford Group, who held a national competition selecting Jemma. The portrait depicts Elgar as the composer finding inspiration from the countryside of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and the Malvern hills, which he loved to explore on his Sunbeam bicycle - nicknamed Mr Phoebus. These journeys were a great creative release for him, colouring his music and giving it that special Englishness for which he is so renowned and loved.
