Common dodder (Cuscuta chinensis Lam.), also known as Chinese Dodder, is a stem holoparasite (a plant that derives all its fixed carbon from the host plant) vine in the family Convolvulaceae. It is a thin, yellow vine lacking leaves or roots. It produces glomerulate to dense paniculiform inflorescence composed of white-cream flowers that are very small, have two styles with capitate stigmata. Its pollen grains are small. It is used medicinally in many Asian countries.
